The Lord has continuously been good to us on the road! Our meetings this past Sunday and Wednesday were short in distance and great in kindness!
Wednesday we visited Jefferson Lighthouse Baptist Church, and what a blessing to see a church still shining the Light of the Gospel! Pastor Whitman preached on taking the Gospel into all the world! What a joy it was to hear his passion for missions! I especially enjoyed the Lighthouse, in front of the church, that served as a constant reminder of our purpose to shine the Light into a dark world!
I had met Pastor Whitman and his family before in a revival meeting, and it was great to see this loving family again. He invited us back to present our ministry in August. We ask that you would pray that the meeting would go well!
Sunday Morning we went to Pond Fork Baptist, and got to hear Pastor Johnny Knight preach about the Ethiopian Eunuch. What an encouragement to remember how God can put us in the right place at the right time to be a witness for Him!
Sunday Evening we had the opportunity to be with Pastor Bill Manus at Ridgeway Baptist. When I was raising support as a student missionary to Peru, this church helped me get there. It was a blessing to be back with them again. Mike and Hope Holden, who are some old friends of ours, are now members there, and it was funny to see their faces as we walked through the door! We haven’t seen them in a couple of years, and it was a joy to see them again!
Pastor Manus had me share our burden for Japan, took up a love offering, and invited me back to preach! We look forward to being with you guys again!
This past Sunday Morning we were blessed to be able to attend Solid Rock Baptist in Maysville, GA. It was a joy to hear Pastor Swayne preach about the old paths! Pastor Swayne let me present our ministry to Japan and we were encouraged by those that said they would be praying for us!
Sunday night we went to Oconee Baptist with Pastor Carlan. This church supported me when I went to Peru as a student missionary, and it was good to see some familiar faces again! After the service, a couple of the members came and gave us words of encouragement as well as a love offering. I’m humbled by the generosity of God’s people, and we are excited to be even closer to serving the Lord in Japan!
Last Sunday we had the opportunity to be at two wonderful churches in PA! It was worth the 1,500+ mile drive to be with these loving people!
Saturday evening we arrived at Fellowship Baptist and spent the night at their prophets chamber. It was a blessing to get a good night’s rest! Sunday morning we met Pastor Jacob Langdon, his wife Kellie, and their two children, Noah, and Conner. Pastor Langdon had me Preach in Sunday School and do our DVD presentation in the main service. We praise the Lord for the good response from the people, and I was encouraged by the testimony of one of the church members who had a similar testimony to my father’s. After the service a couple from the Church invited us and the Langdons over for a delicious lunch! We had a great time of fellowship with them and Pastor Langdon. Thank you Rick and Joyce for opening your home to us. We won’t forget your kindess or those mashed potatoes!!! Thank you Fellowship Baptist and Pastor Langdon for having us come and share our heart for Japan!
Sunday evening we drove only 20 miles to our next meeting at Baptist Tabernacle with Pastor David Foote. Pastor Foote was very welcoming and helped us get set up. We were going to show our DVD presentation, but we didn’t have the right cord for their projector. The Lord blessed anyways and after I finished preaching several people came to the altar. We praise the Lord for what He has done through us! After the service we went and ate with several of the church families, to the most unique dairy queen I’ve ever seen in my life! There was a real Apollo Mission space ship in front of the restaurant and an airplane you could sit on, inside. It was especially enjoyable to be there because we met the parents of our good friend Jason Rishel. Which it turns out was his home church! I ask that you would Pray for Jason as he is preparing to be a missionary at the Training Center at Vision Baptist. Please also pray for Pastor Foote. He was doing some yard work around the church and got poison ivy on his neck. Even though it was very miserable for him, he still took care of us and ate with us after the service!
Thank you Pastor Foote for the opportunity to preach and present our ministry, and thank you bro. Rishel for supper! We pray the Lord continues to bless you guys!
