Dear God, Your Book is great!

by

We had the opportunity to be at Atmore Baptist Temple this past Wednesday. We had a wonderful time with Pastor Doug    Odom. Everyone there was very encouraging and they have such a heart for missions!

In their prophet’s chamber was this picture and I just loved it! I’ve learned in serving Christ to stick with the basics, and the basics being The Bible. We have an awesome God, who loved us enough to provide a way that we might know Him. His Book is full of wisdom, truth, and love! We learn from It how He loved us so much that He gave His Son, Jesus, to make payment for our sins, and thereby being able to have fellowship with God the Father through Jesus our Lord!

Isn’t The Book wonderful?! Isn’t it the greatest thing that anyone could ever read?!  Its pages have been stained by the blood of those that would not give it up. If you just read it you can’t help but fall in love with every word, because every word is pointing to Christ, and Christ is our joy and peace! So, what more can be said by us than to declare how loving our God is and how great His Book is!?

First Month of Deputation!

by

June has already been a crazy month! We helped with three youth camps, visited thirteen different churches, and already drove over 2,000 miles! There were 15 people saved and several more that surrendered to missions during the camps! We praise the Lord for how He has been working!

God has continually met our needs this month! I quit both my jobs at the end of May with an occasional helping my dad at his shop in Suwanee. God has provided love offering after love offering that have been major blessings! We appreciate all the support from the churches we have visited!

Last weekend we visited Victory Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, GA with Pastor Roland Jackson! They were such a blessing to us, and I was able to teach Sunday School and present our ministry in the Morning Service. Sunday night we dropped in at Peachtree Road Baptist Church in Suwanee, GA with Pastor Reed! I was able to see several people I knew and that were friends of my family. Pastor Reed gave us the opportunity to present our ministry and gave us a love offering!

God has been so good to us in this first month of deputation! We are excited to see what the Lord has in store for us! We long to be in Japan and preach the gospel! Paul declared in Romans 1:15 that he was ready to preach to those that were at Rome. I’m ready to preach the Lord Jesus Christ and see His Name rise among the Japanese people! Please keep us in your prayers as we are making progress towards getting to Japan!

Last Words…

by

Well, today was bittersweet. Sweet, because Rebelle and I are making steps towards Japan, but bitter because today was our last time as the teachers of the Sr. High Sunday School Class at our home church. I’m so thankful for the opportunity God gave us at Lighthouse and all the ministries I have been involved in. Though I’m thankful, none of them compare to teaching the 28 teenagers I have been blessed with in my class. I love each one of them and will miss seeing them each Sunday morning! The last Sunday School lesson I left them with was a summary of the Bible. It was Crazy that I was able to do it in less than half an hour! The Bible is summarized in the Gospel. God made us, blessed us, gave us laws to live by, we broke them, there is a penalty, and there is a promise. The promise is the Gospel of the Lord Jesus! Right before Christ ascended into heaven He told us to take that message to the world! I leave you with the same question that I asked them. How are you taking the gospel to the world?
